Game of Goals: Strategic Planning Leaders Forum Youth Platform 2020

On 26 October 2020, the Strategic Planning Leaders Forum Youth Platform “Game of Goals” 2020 was held. This year’s Youth Platform was held in two parts, and today’s event included the GAME of GOALS Case Championship “External Transport”.

Organizers: St. Petersburg Committee for Transport, St. Petersburg Committee for Nature Use, Environmental Protection and Ecological Safety, St. Petersburg State Institution “External Transport Agency”, St. Petersburg State Institution “Organizer of Transportation”, Council of the Baltic Sea States, National Research University Higher School of Economics, ICSER Leontief Centre, Partnership Initiative “Green Mobility – towards Clean, Healthy and Accessible Environment”.

In the first part of the Youth Platform, participants of the Case Championship “External Transport” (three teams that included students from six St. Petersburg universities) presented their vision and development prospects for St. Petersburg air hub by 2035/2050, as well as developed innovative solutions considering the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) implementation.

The Case Championship aims to raise awareness about circular economy and circular public procurement, its contribution to countries’ economic development and meeting the sustainable development challenges, and introduction of EU circular public procurement practices.

After nearly two weeks of hard work jointly with mentors, the participants have become well-coordinated and well-trained teams and presented three projects to the expert jury: Inspiring St. Petersburg, PulkovoNavi, Pulkovo Airport Ecosystem.

The GAME OF GOALS Case Championship “External Transport” Final has been moderated by Dmitry Sosnin, Project Group Advisor, Civil Initiatives Development Foundation “Dialogue”.

Project teams have prepared well for the Q&A session, which became an interesting and lively discussion. After the Q&A session and jury comments, the voting has been held to determine the winner. According to the voting results, the winner title has been given to The HeaveAdge team and their project Inspiring St. Petersburg.

The first part of the Youth Platform ended with the Case Championship Awards Ceremony. The winners and participants were awarded diplomas and gifts provided by the partners of the Strategic Planning Leaders Forum Youth Platform.
