Game of Goals: Ekecheiria — Cross-Sectoral Cooperation Model

On 20 May 2021, the Game of Goals: Ekecheiria — Cross-Sectoral Cooperation Model business game took place in Pskov as part of the master class of the project “Healthy Boost — Urban Labs for Better Health for All in the Baltic Sea Region” of the Interreg Baltic Sea Region Programme 2014-2020.

Ekecheiria is the sacred truce proclaimed all over Ancient Greece during the Olympic Games. Cross-sectoral cooperation assumes partners from different sectors (public, non-profit) joining forces to make joint decisions in order to achieve results and overcome complex challenges.

The master class was attended by representatives of Pskov City Administration Committee for Cross-Border Cooperation and Tourism, Pskov City Administration Committee for Physical Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs, Pskov Region Union of Real Estate Owners, Pskov City Administration Education Department, College at Pskov State University, Pskov City Youth Center, Pskov Secondary School № 47, Pskov Secondary School № 17, Pskov Lyceum “Razvitie”, Pskov Center for Tourism and Creative Industries, Pskov Lyceum for Economics and Business, NGO for Comprehensive Youth Development “Sila Yunosti”, as well as representatives of business and the public. Participants were divided into three cross-sectoral teams. The teams had the task to develop additional purposes for a sports stadium.

Projects developed by the teams:
• Trail to Scandinavia (Team “Green Light”)
• Stadinarium (Team “Dream Team”)
• Family Exercise Machine (Team “Team 3”)

According to the voting results, the Family Exercise Machine project became the winner of the game. The project aims to install bike carousels, step lifts, bike-charging benches, wet wipes and drinking water vending machines in Pskov that will help improve health and quality of life of all Pskov’s residents.

The game was moderated by Olga Iakimenko, ICSER Leontief Centre, Green Mobility CEO.
